The study of pain has captured my attention since I first read Melzack and Wall's "Gate Control Theory" and began to think about pain as a complex phenomenon that includes dimensions of emotion and motivation in addition to being a sensory experience. I now investigate the plasticity that occurs in the neurons and circuits regulating these dimensions of & pain and itch. I also enjoy sailing and playing instruments.

As a Master’s graduate in Pharmacology and Toxicology, I have dealt most of the time in performing experimentsin vitro. Combining those skills with in vivo approaches has given me confidence and practical knowledge about animal behavior and the neurophysiology of pain receptors. This has boosted my enthusiasm to work as a researcher in neurobiology and I am motivated to continue my research while pursuing a PhD. My personal interests are photography, playing volleyball, poetry, dancing, and experiencing thrills.
